Seam — Privacy Policy

Seam ("the app") is a personal fishing log built by an independent developer. This policy explains what information the app collects and how it's used, in plain language.

What the app collects

• Your fishing log data — dates, stream names, notes, species, size, flies used, and any photos you add. You create this data yourself when you log a trip or catch.
• Location — only while you're using the app, and only to suggest which saved stream you're near or to look up live water conditions for that location. Location is not collected in the background and is not used for advertising.
• Camera and Photo Library access — only when you choose to take or select a photo to attach to a log entry.

Where your data is stored

Your fishing log, photos, and location data are stored in your own private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit, so they sync automatically across your own devices. We do not operate our own server that stores your personal data, and we do not have access to it.

What we don't do

• We don't use any analytics, advertising, or tracking software.
• We don't sell or share your data with third parties.
• We don't build advertising profiles.

Third-party services the app uses

• U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Water Services — a public government API. When you look up live stream conditions, the app sends the relevant stream location to USGS's public service to retrieve water temperature, flow, and gauge data. No personal information (your name, account, or identity) is sent — only the geographic coordinates needed to find the nearest water data.
• Apple services — CloudKit (data sync) and StoreKit (subscription purchases, if you choose to subscribe) are provided by Apple and governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

Your control over your data

You can delete any log entry, photo, or your entire fishing log at any time from within the app. Deleting the app and its iCloud data removes your information from Apple's sync service as well.

Children's privacy

Seam is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address with a new "last updated" date.
